Get Ready to have a Great Time!
First time fishermen (and women!) have a great time on Sure Thing with Captain Jason and often discover a love for fishing that lasts a lifetime. If this is your first fishing charter on the Gulf of Mexico you may have some questions. Don’t worry—we’re here to help. What's Included?
Fishing gear, licenses, bait, rods and
reels are provided.
What do I Bring?
You should bring a camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, water, drinks and food.
Will you Process my Catch?
Once we arrive back at the dock the mate will fillet, clean and bag your catch. The mate works for tips and 15-20% of the trips cost is customary. We will also provide information on different methods to cook your fish as well as local restaurants that offer to cook your fish for you.
Where do I Park?
Harbor Walk, 10 Harbor Blvd, Destin FL 32541. There will be a parking attendant when you arrive. It is $10 to park unless you arrive before 5:30 AM (if you come for a morning or all day trip). The boat is on the left side of Margaritaville when facing the harbor (south).
What if the Weather is Bad?
We will not take any chances with your safety. Cancellation due to weather conditions are at the sole discretion of the Captain. If your trip is cancelled due to weather, your charter fee will be refunded in full or you may reschedule for another day (based on availability).
What if it's Raining?
Rain is always a possibility and we do fish in the rain provided that it isn’t too heavy and there is no thunder and lightning. Your comfort is a priority and we let you decide whether you want to fish in the rain. We encourage our customers to bring appropriate rain gear with them.
How many people can I Bring?
The maximum amount of people allowed is 6.
Is Smoking Permitted on the Boat?
Yes, smoking is allowed on the back deck.
Are Alcoholic Beverages Permitted on the Boat?
Yes, alcohol is permitted onboard. We ask our guests to always drink responsibly and obey all safety regulations.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us. Although we strive to make your charter trip memorable, we will not take any chances when it comes to your safety. Cancellations due to weather conditions are the Captain’s decision. In case of a cancellation due to weather, your deposit will be refunded or another date will be scheduled. A 48-hour cancellation notice is required.
Do I need a Fishing License?
No, the vessel has a fishing license that covers everyone aboard.
Should I take Seasickness Medicine?
Although the seas are very calm much of the time, we recommend taking motion sickness medicine if you are prone to getting sick. If you aren’t sure, we recommend taking medicine just in case.
